3.2.1.3. NEW HIRES AND DEPARTURES
NEW HIRES IN THE GROUP
Vivendi has a strong base in the United States where the calculation of
new hires and trainees is markedly different from that in France and other
European countries. In the United States, summer jobs held by students
and temporary positions are considered to fall within the same category
as new hires. To take this into account, the table below counts new hires
of all kinds, irrespective of the period of employment. In 2012, the total
number of new hires, which increased sharply in 2011, was maintained
due to strong internal growth at GVT. Vivendi’s businesses continue to be
very attractive.
