SOCIAL INDICATORS
SEVERITY RATE OF WORKPLACE ACCIDENTS
(WITH WORKDAYS LOST)
In 2012, the severity rate of workplace accidents (with lost work time) in
the Group increased slightly, compared to 2011. In 2012, this figure is also
explained by a significant deployment of operating teams on the ground
at GVT. Similarly, in the smaller structures, a slight difference in absolute
data could lead to a considerable change in relative values.

(a)
The Group’s businesses have little exposure to occupational diseases,
however, Brazilian law defines this concept broadly, which is why it
accounts for the bulk (95%) of this figure.

A full list of these illnesses can be found on the ILO’s website.
