Jean-Yves Charlier, member of the Supervisory Board and until now Chairman of its Strategic Committee,
is to leave the Supervisory Board and join Vivendi in October as Senior Executive Vice President in charge of Telecoms Activities. Jean-Yves Charlier will also participate in the group’s strategic review. He will report to the Chairman of the Management Board. Jean-Yves Charlier is currently Chief Executive Officer of Promethean, a leading worldwide interactive learning company, and has a vast experience in Telecoms.
Vivendi’s Supervisory Board has entrusted Bertrand Meheut, Chairman of the Management Board of Canal+ Group and Canal+ France, with a strategic study regarding the development of media and content, a field in which Vivendi is today one of the worldwide leaders. Bertrand Meheut will carry out this mission in addition to his current duties.
The Supervisory Board confirmed that the group’s Management Board is composed of Jean-François Dubos, Chairman, and Philippe Capron, Chief Financial Officer.
The Supervisory Board also confirmed Stéphane Roussel in his position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SFR.
Frédéric Crépin, Senior Vice President, Head of the Legal Department, is appointed Secretary of Vivendi’s Supervisory and Management Boards. Mathieu Peyceré, Vice President, Human Resources, is appointed Executive Vice President, Human Resources. Both will report to the Chairman of the Management Board.
Jean-Yves Charlier
Since 2007, Jean-Yves Charlier has served as Chief Executive Officer of Promethean, a company that specializes in interactive educational products and media for teachers.
Prior to that, Jean-Yves Charlier joined the Fidelity International group in 2004 as Vice President and was appointed Chairman and CEO of Colt Telecom Group with responsibility for restructuring the European telecommunications operator.
Jean-Yves Charlier joined the BT group in 2002 with responsibility for Europe and operations within the Global Services division.
In 1996, he was appointed President of the Equant group, first for the integration services division, and then for all worldwide group marketing, sales and services operations.
In 1987, Jean-Yves Charlier joined the Wang group in France where he served in several different sales and marketing management positions. From 1993 to 1995, he was responsible for the integration services division in Europe based in London, before becoming Vice President of Wang International in 1995.
Born on November 29, 1963 in Belgium, Jean-Yves Charlier holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in strategy and marketing from Wharton Business School.
Bertrand Meheut
Bertrand Meheut was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Canal+ Group on February 7, 2003, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Canal+ SA on February 20, 2003. He was appointed to Vivendi’s Management Board on April 28, 2005. Bertrand Meheut joined Canal+ Group in October 2002 as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer.
Before joining Canal+ Group, Bertrand Meheut spent most of his career in various positions in the chemicals industry, primarily in the life sciences sector. He held a number of top executive positions at Rhône-Poulenc, which became Aventis after merging with Germany’s Hoechst. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aventis CropScience, an Aventis and Schering subsidiary, running agrichemicals and biotechnologies operations.
Born on September 22, 1951, Bertrand Meheut graduated from Ecole des Mines in France.
Frédéric Crépin
Frédéric Crépin is Senior Vice President, Head of the Legal Department, at Vivendi Group since August 2005.
From July 2000 to August 2005, Frédéric Crépin acted as Special Advisor to the General Counsel and at the Legal Department of Vivendi Universal.
Prior to joining the group, he was Attorney at Law and Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LP in New York (1999-2000) and at Siméon & Associés in Paris (1995-1998).
Born on December 25, 1969, Frédéric Crépin holds a Master degree in Anglo-American Law (LL.M.) from the New York University School of Law. He also graduated from the University of Paris II (Master in European Business Law) and Paris X (Master in Labor and Employment Law). Additionally, he has a Master in Public Affairs from the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris.
Frédéric Crépin is Attorney at Law admitted to the Bars of Paris and New York. He is a member of the Bureau of the MEDEF Business Law Committee, the largest federation of employers in France.
Mathieu Peyceré
Mathieu Peyceré has been Vice President, Human Resources, at the headquarters of Vivendi since 2002. Prior to that, he was in charge of the group’s senior managers from 1998 to 2002.
From 1992 to 1998, he was part of Veolia Eau’s Human Resources Department where he was responsible for Human Resources at the Senior Management Department. From 1991 to 1992, he negotiated audiovisual rights at “Doctors Without Borders” after co-founding Vae Victis, a corporate film company, which he managed from 1989 to 1991.
Born on March 4, 1967, Mathieu Peyceré holds degrees in Social and Media Law.
