Marguerite Abouet is the author of the six-volume series, titled Aya de Yopougon: a hit, selling over 700,000 copies worldwide. She branched out into television, creating the series C’est La Vie (A+, Canal + Afrique) in 2015. The show aims to raise viewers’ awareness of subjects like mother and child health care.

After the success of Season 1, broadcast on A+ in 2015, Season 2 of C’est La Vie is now being filmed. The first episode will be shown at FESPACO (Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival in Ouagadougou) in February 2017.
