Canal+, a long-standing partner of the Cannes International Film Festival, is gearing up to celebrate the festival’s 70th anniversary in a big way: mobilizing all of its channels, talent and digital platforms.

“70 Years – 70 Movies” is the tagline chosen by the Canal+ channels to mark this historic milestone for the most prestigious celebration of film in the world.  Canal+, Canal+ Cinéma (renamed Canal+ Cannes for the occasion) and Ciné+ will offer an original, rich and glamorous roster of films throughout the entire length of the hottest event of the French Riviera taking place from May 17 to 28.  In particular, Canal+ Cannes will dedicate one night to a legendary Palme d’Or winner. The channels’ popular hosts and critics will be on-site reporting on the movies selected to show during the festival as well as the celebrities in attendance.

The teams at the free-to-air channels C8 and CNews will be providing extensive media coverage of the event, tapping into the extensive resources and know-how of the entire Group.

On the digital front, Dailymotion, Canalplus.fr and the myCanal app will be actively present giving an extra dimension to the event.  Subscribers will get the chance to climb the famed red-carpet steps through an immersive 360 degree-VR experience.
